Great accomodation for the price, great location and fantastic staff. Paola very helpful. Close proximity to the Vatican. Local food in the area also very good. Thumbs up from us. Goods place to stay if you don’t want to be in the middle of things, but want to be close.

Best place to go if you are a single traveller looking for a place to stay that is conveniently located to restaurants, the Vatican, and transportation to the see the Pantheon, Colosseum, and Trevi fountain. Paola was the best hostess! She was very helpful and took the time to help me find my way around the area. She recommended a great place to have breakfast, Cresci, which is conveniently located right behind the building. Paola provided recommendations for dinner and drinks as well. The room was clean, I had access to an A/C unit, and a television. I stayed in a room with a double bed and it had everything that I needed. I enjoyed my stay so much that I look forward to staying here again.

Great place very close to the Vatican. Spacious suite with a supermarket laundromat taxi and bus stand right at the doorstep. The host is warm welcoming and helpful with the sights around. Not very near the Rome city center but a good bargain if ur focus is the Vatican .

It is hard for me to give The Popes Window an adequate review when only being offered 1-5 stars. I could easily justify 10-15 stars. If you are going to visit the Vatican or St Peters you will not find a closer place to lay your head. The same can be said if you will be sight seeing in and around Rome. You are literally 2-3 blocks from the Vatican. It is surrounded by MANY restaurants, taxi stands and grocery stores. The rooms are great - cold AC, great daily housekeeping, snacks and kitchen availability, WIFI accessibility - and of course a window view that is totally Rome. You can obviously see the Vatican. These things all add up to a great review of the location and The Popes Window amenities. But that is only a portion of why I, and our entire group highly recommend this place. The owner of the property Sao Paulo, his cousin and the rest of his staff are the most wonderful people we have come across in our travels. Not only did they work with us in setting up the stay (from the US) but they also helped us arrange a special dinner reservation for a travelers 80th birthday. But that was just the start. We were treaded like family when we arrived. And when one member of our traveling party took ill and ended up in the local hospital for over a week Sao Paulo immediately rushed to the hospital, told the staff he was the patients family and bridged the language gap that was frustrating both the family and hospital staff. He came to the hospital daily to speak for us with the staff and made sure we had everything we needed. He even went as far as making sure the family members that stayed behind with the patient had places to stay after our reservations had run out. There is NO WAY our experience in Rome, and especially at the hospital, would have worked out had he not been involved. BTW - we found out at the hospital that when Covid hit Rome he shut The Popes Window down and allowed nurses from the hospital to stay there so they didn't have a long commute after working long, tiring hours. Again - 15 stars? Yep this US based group is forever in his debt - both for showing us a wonderful time, and for treating us as family when we needed an ally. Stay there - you won't regret it.

Day Trip to the Vatican!

I booked a trip to Roma last minute squeezing it between London and Paris. I wanted to stay in the Vatican area because my number one reason on my visit was to see the Vatican, the Museum and Sistine Chapel. I found the Pope’s Window on Trip Advisor and other social media sites. I looked forward to my stay on March 5th - March 6th, 2020. I also looked forward to meeting Paola who had as high a rating as the actual place. When I finally arrived in Roma I contacted Paola on my arrival... she greeted me and gave me some amazing tips only a local would know. She then walked me into my room *the Utopia” which was perfect for me! Yet, it could have easily slept another person. The decor was tastefully done, the room super clean, bathroom modern, I felt safe, and even felt at “home”. I ended up seeing the Vatican and enjoyed staying in the Vatican City... the Pope’s Window also was close enough for me to visit most of the amazing landmarks in Roma. I ended the night eating an al dente Italian dinner with wine and dessert. I slept like a baby and finished my Vatican Museum tour in the morning. What an amazing stay! My only regret is that I couldn’t stay longer... but I already promised I’d return soon! Grazi the Pope’s Window and Paola! ‘Til next time...
